Hawaiian Paradise Designs is located in beautiful
Volcano Village, on the Island of Hawaii.  Living in
such a place, has given me the inspiration to re-create
it's beauty in the various types of media that I work on.

        HAWAI`I STATE EGG
                     2008

I was invited by The American Egg Board (via
Pacific Handcrafters Guild), to design the Hawai`i
State Egg for the Easter Egg Display at the White
House.  The Egg is one of 50 that represent each
State and is pictured below.
The Egg is supposed to represent a particular
feature of the State and I chose to feature each
Island in our State.  It is a large Chicken Egg,
enamelled in metallic royal blue.  The area around
the islands is hand-carved into the shell of the egg,
highlighting each island in blue.  In choosing the
color, I felt that there was no better way to describe
Hawai`i, a special State in the middle of the blue,
Pacific Ocean.
The Egg is on display with the other State Eggs at
the White House Visitor Center in Washington DC,
and I was honored to be extended a personal
invitation to be present at the Official Presentation
to the First Lady, Mrs. Laura Bush on March 10,
2008.
